ABOUT

Parents and kids can still end up painfully out of sync — lost on different wavelengths.

Somewhere around age nine or ten, the frequencies start to drift. Puberty arrives earlier than most of us expect. Privacy appears. Friends get louder; parents get edited. The phone shows up carrying the whole social world in a pocket. None of it means anything is broken — but most of us were handed exactly zero preparation for it. In one national poll, only 31% of parents said their own parents prepared them adequately for puberty. We’re all improvising from inherited silence.

Wavelength Parenting™ exists to replace the improvising. We read the research — the AAP guidance, the JAMA meta-analyses, the developmental science — and translate it into the thing parents actually need at 9:47pm on a Tuesday: an understanding of what may be happening, a plan for what to do, and real words to say out loud.

What we are

An independent publisher of research-backed parenting handbooks and scripts for parents who want to stay connected to their child through the 8–14 transition. Everything lives in one growing library of answers to the questions parents actually type at midnight, and it opens with Still Their Person, which is free.

It comes in two ways. Stay Connected ($27) is where we recommend starting: research-backed guidance for understanding what’s changing, knowing what to say, and protecting connection through the 8 to 14 years — The Growing-Together Conversation, Same Wavelength and the Reset Pack, 157 pages and 134 numbered word-for-word scripts. Stay Connected: Complete ($97) is the full current Wavelength collection for the situations that come next — everything in Stay Connected, plus situation-specific field guides, in-the-moment tools, guides for special circumstances, and three months of ENGAGE, our parent-conversation membership. And there’s Still Their Person: 7 conversations that are painful to miss, and the mistake hiding in each — practical words for talking about bodies, feelings, friends, and phones. It’s free.

What we aren’t

We aren’t doctors or therapists, and nothing we publish is medical or psychological advice. We’re careful about that line: our content points to pediatricians and licensed professionals wherever a situation calls for one, and our evidence standards are public.

How we work

Every claim we publish is verified against primary sources before it ships, and each piece carries its citations. We use modern tools, including AI assistance, in our research and production — and we hold everything to the same standard: if we can’t verify it, we don’t publish it. Questions, corrections, or a topic you want covered: hello@wavelengthparenting.com.
